Baseball Recap: Three Straight Home Wins for North Attleborough

North Attleborough had won three straight at home, but on Monday they bumped their record up to 9-5 to make it four. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Canton Bulldogs a 7-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-1 back in April.

As for Canton, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6-1. The contest marked the first time this year in which they were not able to get on the board.

For Canton's part, Casey Walsh was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over 4.2 innings pitched. Those zero earned runs gave Walsh a new career-low.

At the plate, Canton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Gillis, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. North Attleborough will challenge rival Mansfield at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Rocketeers 3, the Hornets 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Canton is set to take on their familiar foe Foxborough at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
