Baseball Recap: Wake Forest Beats Rolesville for Their Third Straight Win

Wake Forest waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Rolesville Rams get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-0 on Monday.

Trevor Friend tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Wake Forest let Ethan Brittain and Ian Williams run wild. Brittain went 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI, while Williams went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three RBI gave Williams a new career-high. Antonio Parrino was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

Wake Forest was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rolesville only posted a batting average of .118.

Wake Forest's record now sits at 14-5. As for Rolesville, their loss dropped their record down to 9-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wake Forest will square off against Millbrook at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Wildcats will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last. As for Rolesville, they will challenge Knightdale at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Knights have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.89 runs per game on average), something the Rams will no doubt try to take advantage of.
