Baseball Recap: Knightstown's Undefeated Season over After Eight Games

If Knightstown was riding high fresh off their 11-0 takedown of Northeastern on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers lost 9-2 to the Alexandria-Monroe Tigers on Wednesday. The match marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Knightstown saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braylon Johnson, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Having lost for the first time this season, Knightstown fell to 7-1. As for Alexandria-Monroe, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-2.

Looking ahead, Knightstown will venture away from home to face off against Cowan at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Panthers 2.6, the Blackhawks 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Alexandria-Monroe, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Oak Hill at 5:30 p.m. This will be the Tigers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
