Baseball Recap: Ponca City Comes Up Short

Ponca City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sapulpa Chieftains. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Chieftains this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 last Monday.

Ponca City saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Ross, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Ross has become a key player for the Wildcats: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-10 otherwise.

Ponca City's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Sapulpa, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-8.

Looking ahead, Ponca City will be playing in front of their home fans against Comanche at 12:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sapulpa, they will venture away from home to take on Collinsville at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
