Softball Recap: Brookfield Snaps 11-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Brookfield dropped their record down to 19-4 on Thursday, which also ended the team's 11-game streak of wins at home. They fell just short of the Masuk Panthers by a score of 1-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Bobcats were not able to get on the board.

Sydney Miller spent all ten innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 15 consecutive appearances.

As for Masuk, the victory was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 22-1-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games.

On Masuk's side, the result came thanks to Julia Bacoulis's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up 16 Ks.

While Brookfield had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
