The biggest upset of the week belonged to Goshen, who took down 338th ranked Goshen, 36-33.
Western Brown extended the longest winning streak in Southern Buckeye - American this week by beating Bethel-Tate, 46-13. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Western Brown's dynamic duo of Devin Wood and Pierce Moore proved tough for the Tigers to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Wood threw for 202 yards and three touchdowns and Moore had 95 yards receiving. Eean Hornung helped Western Brown's passing attack out by catching four balls for 58 yards.
Alex Edwards made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Warriors lost to Amelia. The 6-foot-0 senior grabbed one interception.
Marcus Casey was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 24 carries, he ran for 226 yards as Goshen beat Bethel-Tate. Teammate Aaron Worley added to the ground attack by rushing for 47 yards.
The Broncos' Wood and Christian Dawson have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Wood has thrown for 1282 yards this season, while Dawson, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 19 catches for 412 yards. Mark Slagle's team's Casey leads the league in rushing yards with 832.
A big matchup in Southern Buckeye - American this week will be when Western Brown takes on the Warriors. As it stands, the Broncos are in first, while Goshen is in third.
There should be lots of points scored when Western Brown and the Warriors face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Broncos comes in having scored 227 this season, while Goshen has scored 191. Western Brown scored 46 points last week as it bested Wayne Stacy's team.
Norwood moved up to 415 from 522 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Indians climbed the ranks as a result of a 18-7 win over New Richmond.
