Basketball Recap: Tupelo Comes Up Short

Tupelo was the 55-52 winner over Columbus when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Golden Wave took a 72-55 bruising from the Falcons on Saturday. That's two games in a row now that the Golden Wave have lost by exactly 17 points.

This is the second loss in a row for Tupelo and nudges their season record down to 2-2. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points over those games. As for Columbus, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

Coming up, Tupelo will be taking part in a tournament against Leake Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Columbus, they will square off against Marion at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Falcons will need to watch out since the Patriots have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
