Miller came up big in Torrey Pines' 9-3 victory
Winning always takes teamwork, but on Thursday Brendon Miller stepped things up a notch to give Torrey Pines the 'W'. Miller turned in nothing short of a gem: he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits (and not a single walk).
Miller's strong effort led Torrey Pines over San Marcos and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Miller has dominated as far as hits are concerned (he's averaged 1.9 per game this season), but he's got his work cut out for him considering San Marcos has only allowed 6.12 per game this season.
