Eastern Hancock came tearing into Saturday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They breezed by the Randolph Southern Rebels to the tune of 72-35. Given the Royals' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 144th, while the Rebels are ranked 294th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Eastern Hancock got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kayden Ruble out in front who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds. Ruble is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Caleb Retherford, who went 5 of 9 en route to 14 points.

Eastern Hancock pushed their record up to 5-3 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.5 points per game. As for Randolph Southern, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-4.

Eastern Hancock will head out to square off against Wapahani at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Randolph Southern, they will square off against Union at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
