Baseball Game Preview: Davenport West Falcons vs. Bettendorf Bulldogs

The Davenport West Falcons will head out to square off against the Bettendorf Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Davenport West barely beat Camanche the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Falcons put the hurt on the Indians with a sharp 11-1 victory on Friday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Falcons needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Meanwhile, Bettendorf entered their tilt with Mid-Prairie on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Golden Hawks. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won seven games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Bettendorf pushed their record up to 14-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Davenport West, their win bumped their record up to 7-13.

Davenport West couldn't quite get it done against Bettendorf in their previous meeting back in June of 2024 as they fell 10-5. Can the Falcons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
