Basketball Recap: Norwalk Comes Up Short

Norwalk played a tough contest on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Dowling Catholic Maroons and fell 68-40. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 60th, while the Maroons are ranked 11th).

Norwalk's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Dowling Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Looking ahead, Norwalk will be playing in front of their home fans against A-D-M at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. A-D-M knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight matchups -- so hopefully Norwalk likes a good challenge. As for Dowling Catholic, they will head out to face off against Lincoln at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Dowling Catholic has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
