Basketball Recap: STX Picks Up Seventh Consecutive Win

STX waltzed into their contest on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They breezed by Varsity Opponent to the tune of 55-21. That's the sixth time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 44-40 win two weeks ago.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead STX to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cisco Moreno, who posted seven points and seven steals. The dominant performance gave Moreno a new career-high in steals. Another player making a difference was Lucian Lopez, who earned seven points and 14 rebounds.

STX smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in seven consecutive games.

STX's win bumped their record up to 19-12.

STX does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Varsity Opponent, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 49-38 loss against Somerset Bible Baptist Christian Academy on the 7th.
