Basketball Recap: Lewiston Comes Up Short

Lewiston lost against Cheverus back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Lewiston Blue Devils were dealt a 64-36 loss at the hands of the Cheverus Stags. While losing is never fun, the Blue Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while the Stags are ranked 22nd).

Lewiston's defeat dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Cheverus, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lewiston will host Edward Little at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing isn't great for Lewiston: they have been struggling with six straight losses at home, while Edward Little has snatched up five consecutive wins on the road. As for Cheverus, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Portland at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
