Pershing County is 9-1 against Battle Mountain since September of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Mustangs will venture away from home to square off against the Longhorns at 5:00 p.m. Pershing County will be strutting in after a victory while Battle Mountain will be coming in after a defeat.

Battle Mountain will be up against a hot Pershing County team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Mustangs came out on top against Sierra Lutheran by a score of 3-1 on Saturday.

Pershing County walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the first set). The final score came out to 25-14, 23-25, 27-25, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Battle Mountain suffered their biggest loss since November 1, 2024 on Saturday. They lost 3-0 to Yerington. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Longhorns haven't been shut out since back in August.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-6, 25-6.

Battle Mountain's defeat dropped their record down to 17-10. As for Pershing County, their victory bumped their record up to 10-12.

Pershing County came out on top in a nail-biter against Battle Mountain in their previous meeting back in September, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
