Softball Game Preview: Southampton Academy Raiders vs. Kenston Forest Kavaliers

Southampton Academy is 2-8 against Kenston Forest since March of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Raiders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Kavaliers at 1:00 p.m. Southampton Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.

Southampton Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. Everything went their way against Tidewater Academy as they made off with a 15-1 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Raiders.

Kelsey Braun was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Reagan Webb, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Southampton Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are undefeated (6-0) when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, Kenston Forest waltzed into their contest on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Falcons.

Kenston Forest's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-5. As for Southampton Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 9-7-1.
