The Union Academy Cardinals will head out on the road to take on the South Stanly Rowdy Rebel Bulls at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Union Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.

It was a proper cat-fight when Union Academy duked it out with Mount Pleasant on Friday. The Cardinals took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Union Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Christian Pawl, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask South Stanly). Everything went their way against Albemarle on Monday as they made off with a 25-0 victory. Considering the Rowdy Rebel Bulls have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

The win made it two in a row for South Stanly and bumps their season record up to 14-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 22.5 runs over those games. As for Union Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.

Union Academy took their win against South Stanly in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 7-1 score. Will the Cardinals repeat their success, or do the Rowdy Rebel Bulls have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
