Basketball Game Preview: Grinnell Tigers vs. West Delaware Hawks

The Grinnell Tigers will venture away from home to take on the West Delaware Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Grinnell is headed into the match having just posted their biggest win since January 20th on Friday. They put the hurt on Vinton-Shellsburg with a sharp 45-24 victory. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, West Delaware was fully in charge on Saturday, breezing past Independence 67-38. The Hawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 20 points or more this season.

The victory made it two in a row for West Delaware and bumps their season record up to 12-8. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points over those games. As for Grinnell, their win bumped their record up to 9-12.

Grinnell took a serious blow against West Delaware when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 62-23. Can Grinnell avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
