Flag Football Game Preview: Florin Panthers vs. Christian Brothers Falcons + Official Tickets

The Florin Panthers will challenge the Christian Brothers Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Florin 14.2, Christian Brothers 13.5) so any points scored will be well earned.

Florin had been on a four-game streak of scoring at least 31 points, but Fairfield put an end to it on Wednesday. The Panthers lost 25-0 to the Falcons. The Panthers have struggled against the Falcons recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Florin didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Paris Jones and Jazzjunae Landers.

Meanwhile, Christian Brothers got the win against Rio Americano on Wednesday by a conclusive 46-20. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Christian Brothers found their leader in sophomore Taylor Jernigan, who threw for 325 yards and four touchdowns on only 18 passes, and also rushed for 38 yards. Claire Cuckovich was another key player, picking up 140 receiving yards and one score.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Christian Brothers' defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Senyah Haynes, Kaelyn Montemayor, and Alannah Gill, who each picked up one sack apiece. Gabriella Devlin got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The win made it two in a row for Christian Brothers and bumps their season record up to 15-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.5 points over those games. As for Florin, their loss dropped their record down to 11-9.
