Basketball Game Preview: Mesa Ridge Grizzlies vs. Palmer Ridge Bears

The Mesa Ridge Grizzlies just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Palmer Ridge Bears at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Mesa Ridge has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Mesa Ridge fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Coronado on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 59-58 to the Cougars. While the Grizzlies didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Cougars 12-8 in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, Palmer Ridge was beaten by Air Academy 69-25 on Thursday. The game marked the Bears' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Mesa Ridge has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. As for Palmer Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 14-6.

Mesa Ridge lost to Palmer Ridge on the road by a decisive 52-35 margin in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can Mesa Ridge avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
