Baseball Recap: Starkville Takes a Loss

Starkville started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Vancleave. They came up short against the Vancleave Bulldogs on Monday, falling 16-8. While the Yellowjackets didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bulldogs 4-0 in the first period.

Bradley Cohen was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Marcus Hendrix was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

This is the second loss in a row for Starkville and nudges their season record down to 8-4. As for Vancleave, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-3.
