Baseball Recap: Pendleton Heights Comes Up Short

After flying high against Richmond on Monday, Pendleton Heights came back down to earth. The Arabians fell just short of the Delta Eagles by a score of 6-4 on Thursday. The Arabians have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Pendleton Heights got a good showing from Jackson Maifeld, who tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Colin Axel-Adams was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Ty Frakes, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run.

Pendleton Heights' loss dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Delta, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-8 record this season.

While Pendleton Heights had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
