Baseball Recap: DePaul College Prep Comes Up Short

IC Catholic Prep hit DePaul College Prep with a four-run fifth inning on Sunday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Rams lost 10-4 to the Knights. The Rams were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Dylan Hecht was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three doubles and one run. Another player making a difference was Quinn Roberts, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

DePaul College Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 20-5. As for IC Catholic Prep, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-13.

Coming up, DePaul College Prep will host Chicago Mt. Carmel at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for IC Catholic Prep, they will square off against Aurora Central Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Chargers have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season.
