Baseball Game Preview: IC Catholic Prep Knights vs. Leo Lions

For the second straight game, IC Catholic Prep will face off against Leo. The Knights will square off against the Lions at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. IC Catholic Prep is on a six-game streak of home losses, and Leo a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck.

IC Catholic Prep was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Leo on Thursday. The Knights blew past the Lions 14-4. Considering the Knights' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

For Leo's part, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Devin Vassel, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Vassel has become a key player for the Lions: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least three hits, but 5-14 otherwise. Aiden Lott was another, earning one RBI, one run, and two stolen bases.

IC Catholic Prep's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-8 and their overall record up to 5-15. As for Leo, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-15.
