Soccer Game Preview: Central vs. San Joaquin Memorial

The Central Grizzlies will face off against the San Joaquin Memorial Panthers at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Central will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Central will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one goal last Friday, then bounced right back against Washington Union on Monday. Central was the clear victor by a 5-1 margin over Washington Union. Considering the Grizzlies have won four contests by more than two goals this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, neither San Joaquin Memorial nor Reedley could gain the upper hand on Friday so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw.

Central pushed their record up to 9-2-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored eight goals over those three games. San Joaquin Memorial's draw gives them a new season record of 4-5-2.

Central might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from San Joaquin Memorial in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
