Baseball Recap: North Pocono Triumphs

North Pocono won against Berwick last Thursday with five runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Trojans didn't even let the Valley View Cougars on the board, marking the Trojans' second-straight 5-0 shutout. The Trojans' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last three games.

The team relied heavily on Jake Reese, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Connor Ruddy also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

North Pocono now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Valley View, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, North Pocono will square off against Scranton Prep at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Cavaliers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.8 runs per game on average), something the Trojans will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Valley View, they will take on Abington Heights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Comets have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season.
