Softball Recap: Las Cruces Bulldawgs vs. Deming Wildcats
Las Cruces had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against the Deming Wildcats as the Las Cruces Bulldawgs made off with a 16-1 win. The victory was some much needed relief for the Bulldawgs as it spelled an end to their nine-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Leah Pacheco was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only a hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in strikeouts. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Erica Silva was incredible, going 2-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and four runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Adriana Pena, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
