Baseball Recap: Southwest SD Takes a Loss

Southwest SD fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Mar Vista on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Mariners by a score of 2-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Raiders of the 22-5 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Southwest SD saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sebestian Martinez, who went 2-for-5 with one double and one RBI.

Southwest SD's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10-1. As for Mar Vista, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-11.

While Southwest SD had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
