Baseball Recap: West Broward Has No Trouble Against Episcopal School of Dallas

The West Broward Bobcats made easy work of the Episcopal School of Dallas Eagles on Friday and carried off a 9-1 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bobcats.

Derek Sclafani looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February.

At the plate, Ivan Sabater was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Reggie Rodr?guez, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

West Broward's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-6. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Episcopal School of Dallas, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-4-1.

West Broward and Episcopal School of Dallas could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in their respective state rankings. West Broward will square off against St. John's at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday down 37 places (38 vs. 1). Meanwhile, Episcopal School of Dallas (ranked 757th) will meet Jupiter (ranked 29th) at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
