Softball Recap: Elizabeth Forward Beats Laurel Highlands for Their Sixth Straight Win

Elizabeth Forward came tearing into Wednesday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Laurel Highlands Mustangs with a sharp 15-0 win. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Julia Johnson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs.

In other batting news, Berlyn Holibaugh was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Addy Nigut, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.

Elizabeth Forward kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 14 hits in three consecutive games.

Elizabeth Forward's record is now 10-2. As for Laurel Highlands, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-8.
