Softball Recap: North Haven Takes a Loss

North Haven lost against Foran back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Nighthawks fell 5-1 to the Lions.

Brianna Palmese spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits.

At the plate, Alexandra Anquillare was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

North Haven has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Foran, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 16-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Haven will host Cheshire at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Foran, they will take on Lauralton Hall at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Crusaders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.25 runs per game on average), something the Lions will no doubt try to take advantage of.
