Baseball Recap: Shenango Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hopewell, Shenango was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over the Neshannock Lancers. That's more bragging rights for the Wildcats, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Jonathan Santangelo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits.

On the hitting side, Shenango saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Kamerer, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Those two hits gave Kamerer a new career-high.

Shenango's victory bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Neshannock, with the loss, they broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-2.

Shenango will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Lancers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
