Excel Christian Academy extended their home winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Karlene Fernandez. The Spartans were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Hillsborough Baptist Lions on Monday with plenty of help from Fernandez, who had five aces. She is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last nine games she's played.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-9, 25-18.

Excel Christian Academy now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Hillsborough Baptist, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Excel Christian Academy will take on Geneva Classical Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hillsborough Baptist, they will square off against American Youth Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
