Preview: Jeff Davis vs. Toombs County
On Friday Toombs County will take on Jeff Davis at 7:30 PM. Both of these teams will be looking for a pick-me-up after considerable defeats in their previous games.
After a string of three wins, Toombs County's good fortune finally ran out last Friday. They suffered a grim 14-45 defeat to Vidalia. Despite the loss, Toombs County saw an underclassman step up: Sophomore Derrick Mincey rushed for 74 yards and 2 touchdowns. Mincey has been a consistent playmaker for Toombs County as this was the 3rd good game in a row from him.
Meanwhile, after a dominant win in their contest three weeks ago, Jeff Davis were humbled two weeks ago. They found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 15-43 punch to the gut against Vidalia. Jeff Davis were down by 8-29 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Everything went Toombs County's way against Jeff Davis the last time the two teams met as they made off with a 38-14 victory. Will Toombs County repeat their success, or does Jeff Davis have a better game plan this time around ? We'll find out soon enough.
