Why it's big: The District 14-5A championship is up for grabs in this battle of unbeatens on Friday night.

Lake Ridge, which played its first varsity season in 2012, has never beaten Mansfield Summit. On the other side, Mansfield Summit needs to keep that streak alive in order to lock up its first district title since 2011.

Names to watch: Lake Ridge's sudden rise to prominence has been powered by senior quarterback Jett Duffey. The three-star Texas Tech pledge has 1,270 passing yards and 860 rushing yards with 22 total touchdowns this season.



Mansfield Summit's defense has allowed only seven points total in its last two games. The unit features TCU commit Vernon Scott in the secondary and athletic linebacker Ayo Shogbonyo.
