Volleyball Recap: King Comes Up Short at Home Against Sumner + How To Watch

King unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost 3-0 to the Sumner Stingrays on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lions of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2022.

The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-5, 25-5.

Alana Mitchell went supernova For Sumner., getting 18 aces and nine digs. The team also got some help courtesy of Elif Isikser, who had eight assists and six aces.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. King will take on Riverview at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Sumner, they will square off against Morgan at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
