Softball Recap: New London Triumphs

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but New London ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Mapleton Mounties 7-6. This was a revenge game for the Wildcats: when they faced off against the Mounties last Monday, they had to take a 16-1 defeat.

Addison Yetter spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Olivia Yetter was excellent, going 3-for-5 with three RBI and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Madison Rowland was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-5.

New London's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Mapleton, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

Coming up, New London will head out on the road to challenge Loudonville at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mapleton, they will host St. Paul at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
