Baseball Recap: Centennial's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Centennial waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Roosevelt Mustangs. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-2 last Monday.

Charles Rogers spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Centennial saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jesse Mendoza, who scored a run while going 2-for-2. That's the most hits Mendoza has posted since back in February.

Centennial's record is now 14-4. As for Roosevelt, they dropped their record down to 10-11 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Centennial will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Mustangs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
