The Larimore Polar Bears won the last time they faced the Benson County [Leeds/Maddock] Wildcats, and things went their way on Saturday too. Larimore blew past Benson County [Leeds/Maddock] 64-44. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Larimore.
Larimore's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Michael Myers led the charge by dropping a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Myers has been hot recently, having posted ten or more rebounds the last nine times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Gratton, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine assists.
Larimore's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-8. As for Benson County [Leeds/Maddock], their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Larimore will face off against Dakota Prairie at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Dakota Prairie knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Larimore likes a good challenge. As for Benson County [Leeds/Maddock], they will head out on the road to take on Griggs County Central/Midkota at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Benson County [Leeds/Maddock] is coming into the match with five straight defeats on the road, meaning Griggs County Central/Midkota will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory.
