Baseball Recap: Heritage Comes Up Short

Heritage fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Viera on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 9-7. The Panthers were not able to make up for their loss to the Hawks from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Ryan Pattee made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 3-for-5. He is becoming a predictor of Heritage's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 6-1 (and 6-9 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Adrial Diaz Lopez, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Heritage has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-10 record this season. As for Viera, their win bumped their record up to 15-8.

Heritage didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 15-10 victory against Port St. Lucie on the 4th. As for Viera, they have also already played their next game, a 1-0 win against Cocoa Beach on the 9th.
