Basketball Recap: Whitharral Comes Up Short

If Whitharral was riding high fresh off their 72-47 takedown of Hawley on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Whitharral Panthers fell to the Alpine Bucks 58-53. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bucks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.

When it comes to explaining why Whitharral lost on Friday, don't look at Nathaniel Sansom. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 27 points and 12 rebounds. Sansom has been hot, having posted 17 or more points the last six times he's played.

Whitharral's record now sits at 8-6. As for Alpine, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-4.

Whitharral will head out to face off against Lockney at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Whitharral is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.8 points per game this season. As for Alpine, they will host McCamey at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
