Baseball Game Preview: Pasadena Memorial Mavericks vs. Manvel Mavericks

Pasadena Memorial will take on Manvel at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Pasadena Memorial: 3.1, Manvel: 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Pasadena Memorial picked up another tournament win on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 9-1 margin over Westfield.

Meanwhile, Manvel came up short against Pasadena Memorial on Tuesday and fell 8-5. Manvel has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jesus Merlo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and five unearned) runs on eight hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Brayden Tuiasosopo was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Thompson, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

The victory got Pasadena Memorial back to even at 5-5-1. As for Manvel, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.
