Basketball Game Preview: Elkhart Lions vs. Warsaw Tigers

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Elkhart Lions face off against the Warsaw Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday... Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Elkhart is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They snuck past Concord with a 40-34 win.

Meanwhile, Warsaw waltzed into their match on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Hornets 74-27. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-14.

Warsaw's win came from a few key players Elkhart will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Brooke Winchester, who went 5 for 10 on her way to 18 points and seven rebounds. The game was her fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Joslyn Bricker, who went 8 of 14 en route to 17 points.

Warsaw was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Angola only posted eight assists.

Elkhart's record is now 14-10. As for Warsaw, their record now sits at 21-1.

Elkhart came out on top in a nail-biter against Warsaw in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, sneaking past 55-53. Will Elkhart repeat their success, or does Warsaw have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
