Basketball Game Preview: River Forest Ingots vs. Griffith Panthers

River Forest and Griffith are an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2014, but not for long. The River Forest Ingots will be playing at home against the Griffith Panthers at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. River Forest is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

Last Saturday, River Forest was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 29-28 to Gary West Side.

Despite the loss, River Forest had strong showings from D?Yanna Hurn, who posted ten points in addition to seven boards and three steals, and Rayna Cary, who had eight points and ten rebounds.

Even though they lost, River Forest smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 18 offensive boards in three consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Griffith lost to Highland on the road by a 54-39 margin on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now lost three in a row.

River Forest's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Griffith, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.
