Baseball Game Preview: Hamilton Braves vs. Mt. Shasta Bears

The Hamilton Braves will square off against the Mt. Shasta Bears at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hamilton will be strutting in after a victory while Mt. Shasta will be coming in after a loss.

While Hamilton's win against Plumas Charter wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Hamilton came out on top in a nail-biter against Plumas Charter on Saturday, sneaking past 4-2. While the Braves didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-12-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Dylan Joksch spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Patrick Matthews was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season.

Meanwhile, Mt. Shasta was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 9-6 to Yreka.

Hamilton has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. Mt. Shasta's loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
