Wonderview and Mt. Vernon-Enola are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. The Daredevils will face off against the Warhawks at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Wonderview has three straight wins, Mt. Vernon-Enola has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Friday, Wonderview got the win against Sacred Heart by a conclusive 14-4.

Nate Smith was a standout: he scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Caul Duvall, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Wonderview always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .694. The last time their OBP was this high was was before the start of last season.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Mt. Vernon-Enola's offense. They came up short against South Side on Friday, falling 15-0.

Mt. Vernon-Enola saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Lawrence, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double. That double marked the first that Lawrence hit this season.

Wonderview's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-6. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.7 runs over those games. As for Mt. Vernon-Enola, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.

Wonderview couldn't quite get it done against Mt. Vernon-Enola in their previous meeting two weeks ago as they fell 7-4. Can the Daredevils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
