Game recap: Brennan High School Football Team beats Burbank

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Emilio Gonzales ran for two touchdowns and Da'shawn Key added three as well as Brennan (San Antonio, Texas) bested Burbank (San Antonio, Texas) 69-0 on Saturday.

After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Nathaniel Wells Jr in the first quarter, the Bears led 48-0 at the half.

Brennan grew its lead to 62 points entering the fourth quarter. The Bears scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by Key.

With the win Brennan extended its winning streak to seven games. Brennan defeated Brackenridge 62-6 last week.

Ethan Valdez played well for the Bears in the victory. He kicked nine extra points.

Brennan had given up an average of 4.5 points prior to the contest.



The Bears also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 63-6.

The defeat comes as a step back for Burbank, who notched a 40-26 victory over Jefferson in its previous outing. The loss ended Burbank's two-game winning streak.

Burbank (3-4) goes up against Edison in a 4A Region IV District 28 game matchup next week, while Brennan (7-0) locks horns with Lanier also in a 4A Region IV District 28 game.
