Volleyball Recap: Eden Thomas and Serenity Griego Secure Win for Englewood + How To Watch

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against The Pinnacle, Englewood was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Alameda 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Englewood has posted since August 30, 2024.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Englewood got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 23-25, 25-18, 23-25, 17-15.

Leading Englewood to victory were Serenity Griego and Eden Thomas. Griego had seven aces and one assist, while Thomas had six digs and five kills. That's the most digs Thomas has posted over her last four games.

They weren't the only good server: Englewood was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 21 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in four consecutive contests.

Englewood's victory bumped their record up to 2-7. As for Alameda, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.

Looking ahead, Englewood will take on Arvada at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Alameda, they will challenge Gateway at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
