Basketball Game Preview: Manzanola Bobcats vs. Hanover Hornets

The Manzanola Bobcats will challenge the Hanover Hornets at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Manzanola has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since January 15.

Manzanola is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Springfield on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Manzanola had to suffer through a 59-15 loss at the hands of Springfield. The Bobcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-6.

Meanwhile, Hanover hadn't done well against Genoa-Hugo/Karval recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Hanover simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Genoa-Hugo/Karval 58-27. The Hornets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 28 points or more this season.

Hanover moved to 8-6 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Manzanola, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12.

Manzanola lost to Hanover at home by a decisive 34-17 margin when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Manzanola avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
