Windermere snaps three-game streak of wins at home

Recap: Windermere Wolverines vs. South Lake Eagles

The Windermere Wolverines suffered their biggest loss since December 20, 2023 on Monday. Their tough 50-24 loss to South Lake might stick with them for a while. Windermere has not had much luck with South Lake recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Several Wolverines players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Juliette Foradi, who scored two points along with 15 rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that Foradi grabbed two or more steals. Ryen Wood was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with three steals.

South Lake was led to victory by Kaylin Cockefair and Anyah Unelus. Cockefair scored ten points along with seven rebounds and two blocks, while Unelus dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. Unelus' trending in the right direction, as she's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Jazmine Monroe, who scored six points along with six steals.

Windermere's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-12. As for South Lake, their win bumped their record up to 11-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Windermere won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Cypress Creek at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Cypress Creek is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. As for South Lake, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Olympia at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Olympia focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Tuesday.
