After a string of three wins, St. Bonaventure's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Providence Pioneers by a score of 3-2.

St. Bonaventure got a good showing from Joseph Martinez, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Martinez has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, St. Bonaventure saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Masiah Merricks, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double.

St. Bonaventure's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Providence, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-6.

St. Bonaventure wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, an 8-0 loss against Hueneme on the 3rd. As for Providence, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Flintridge Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
